Oh Man! These burgers were awesome! This is the first recipe I’ve tried from The Essential Eating Well Cookbook. They were not hard to make at all! I am so happy to have found a healthy burger recipe that tastes so good!

These burgers were only 200 calories per serving. I had mine on an Arnold Select Multigrain sandwich thin with spinach and tomatoes on top. I also had some watermelon and broccoli on the side.
The recipe in the book made 4 servings so I just cut everything in half:
For 2 Servings:
- 1 slice whole-wheat bread, crusts removed and torn into pieces
- 1/6 cup fresh blueberries
- 1/2 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 clove garlic (I used powder)
- 1/8 teaspoon salt, or to taste
- Ground pepper to tase
- 6 ounces 90%-lean ground beef
(I modified what I did with the directions because my food processor wasn’t working. Instead, I used a small food chopper and mixed the liquid ingredients by hand. If you want the word for word recipe, here it is on the Eating Well website)
1. First, place bread in a food processor (I used a small food chopper) and pulse into fine crumbs. Transfer to bowl
2. Add blueberries and puree in food processor/food chopper. Then, mix into bowl with breadcrumbs.
3. Add vinegar, mustard, Worcestershire, garlic, salt and pepper to bowl.
4. Add ground beef, mix well.
5. Form into patties. Cook until browned, and no longer pink in the center. (4-5 minutes per side)

Amazing! The smaller one is mine!

YUM!
I didn’t add any ketchup to mine. It was so flavorful by itself that I didn’t even need any. I can’t wait to try other Eating Well recipes!
In other news, Jeff and I bought a scale. I weighed in at 130lbs! That’s 10 whole pounds lost! I’m aiming for 120lbs. (I am 5’2″) I am celebrating with a cup of Yogi Meditation Tea and a small piece of Herbert’s Berry Good Dark Chocolate Bar. It’s the most amazing dark chocolate bar I’ve ever had! It’s full of strawberries, blueberries, cranberries, and white chocolate chips. Try it!

That’s all for tonight! Have a great night and I hope you try and love the burgers! I did!

Congrats on that weight loss! Way to rock it girl!
o wow…i would never have thought to use blueberries in a burger! do you get just a hint of blueberry or is it apparent that there are blueberries in the burger??
you just get a hint of blueberries. I love blueberries in anything so I didn’t hesitate to try this recipe. Other people I have told about it have been like EW! They were amazing though!
