Starbucks & Penguins

Hey guys!! Sorry I didn’t get a chance to post last night. I spent the day packing, driving up to Albany, and then sleeping at 9:00pm from exhaustion!

Yesterday Morning, I had a big breakfast because I knew I was going to be on the go for most of the day and wanted to stay full.  I had Kashi Vanilla Hot Cereal and a slice of marble rye with blueberry fruit spread on top

I topped my bowl of cereal with peanut butter, almond butter, sliced almonds, and part of my honest foods granola plank

I also had 1/2 cup of coffee with skim milk & splenda outside on the back porch with my mom

After spending a couple hours getting my stuff together, I packed my car and hit the road! I met my friend, Julianne, at an outdoor outlet shopping center called Woodbury Common

We shopped for most of the day. Neither of us could resist sampling chocoalte in the Godiva Store

We stopped in Starbucks and since I was still very full from breakfast, I ordered an unsweetened iced tea

There were huge sales at every store we went into but I was good and only participated in the one at the Reebok Store. I purchased 2 new sports bras and socks for under $30!

The bras are so comfy and the socks are thin and light weight. After shopping for a couple hours, we started to get hungry. I let Julianne pick a spot for lunch and she chose Applebee’s

Applebee’s is not my favorite place in the world but it was good for a quick, cheap lunch. Julie and I split the Grilled Chili-Lime Chicken Salad

The salad was comprised of spinach, red onions, roasted red peppers, mushrooms, and reduced fat cheddar and mozzarella (I didn’t see any cheese on ours come to think of it), It was served with a side of Chili-Lime Vinaigrette Dressing, Julie and I also split a baked potato with a side of broccoli, squash, and zucchini

Julie actually ate most of the salad because I still wasn’t that hungry. I topped my half of the baked potato with broccoli, pepper, & hot sauce

The salad was ok. Nothing incredible. I try to avoid Applebee’s as much as possible but it served its purpose for the day.

After lunch,  Julie and I shared a small serving of Dippin Dots for dessert

We  ordered a combination of the banana split flavor and the strawberry cheesecake flavor. YUM!

We walked around for a little while longer and then left. I headed back to Albany at around 4:30. I stopped at Starbucks again on the way and ordered a Sugar Free Vanilla Iced Coffee with Skim Milk. I only ended up drinking  half of it because my stomach was bothering me

When I got to my apartment at around 7:00, Jeff and I heated up leftovers from Saturday for dinner

I spend quite some time starring at penguin shaped ice

For dessert, I ate a Kashi Oatmeal Dark Chocolate Cookie and drank a glass of skim milk

I passed out at around 9:00 and didn’t wake up until 9:30 this morning!

Jeff’s mom gave him a Fiber One Pancake Mix to try so I figured I’d make some this morning

I was not a fan of the ingredient list or the pancakes in general. They tasted cardboard like to me. We haven’t gone grocery shopping so I didn’t have any yogurt to to top my pancakes with so I had a tiny bit of store brand lite syrup on the side. The second ingredient in the syrup was high fructose corn syrup which didn’t make me happy.

I actually only ate three of these because I really didn’t like the pancakes. Jeff likes them but I don’t think I’ll be eating them again. I’d rather make mine from scratch or make an organic, whole wheat mix. These actually gave me a stomach ache. Ugh!

Jeff and I are heading to the gym now. I can’t wait to settle back into my regular routine. It feels good to be home!

What is your favorite pancake mix?
