Hi Guys!! What a great afternoon/evening I’ve had! Jeff and I went out on some errands this afternoon and checked out this health food store I’ve been dying to go to since we moved to Albany. It’s almost as amazing as Whole Foods if you can believe that! It’s called the Honest Weight Food Co-Op
I am really thinking about becoming a member to support the Co-Op. It’s only $100 and you get discounts on everything they sell plus newsletters and they offer classes on nutrition.

Jeff and I will definitely be going back and bought a few things while we were there, too

- Organic All Purpose Flour
- Organic Wheat Berries
- Turkish Raisins
- Chickpeas
- Lavender
- Tomato
- Corn
- Luna Bars
I’m so happy just thinking about the store because I was pretty bummed that there were no Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s near me.
I brought some snacks on our errands so I could prevent myself from buying everything at the co-op

I ended up eating the Fruit Leather, and not the Larabar. Sorry Larabar! The Fruit Leather was amazing though!! Did you ever get these as a kid? I believe the flavor was Pineapple Coconut Paradise. Yum! I also grabbed a Grande Sugar Free Vanilla Iced Coffee with Skim Milk from Starbucks

My snack held me over until I got home. I planned to make Jenna’s Pizza Dough for dinner tonight and boy, am I glad I did! Jeff and I loved it!! After exchanging emails with Jenna, I learned that her recipe makes enough dough for 4 small pizzas or two large ones. I decided to do the former and froze the other half of the dough.

While waiting for the dough to rise, I snacked on some cherries and caught up on reading blogs.

After about an hour, my dough looked like this

I used half of the above and spread it out into two separate mini pizzas

Toppings:

- Fresh tomato
- Red Pepper
- Green Pepper
- Garlic
- Onion
Can you guess which one is mine?

I topped the pizzas with Organic Tomato Sauce, Part Skim Mozzarella, Parmesan Cheese, and Feta Crumbles. Plus a sprinkle of dried Basil.

I only ate half of mine because the veggies were so filling

SO GOOD!! Oh man, major kudos to Jenna for posting this recipe! I’m never ordering pizza again!! The dough was so flavorful. I will make this recipe a hundred times over! And now I have two more pieces for tomorrow’s lunch or dinner!! YAY!!
Dessert was this

Banana Donut topped with Edy’s Slow Churned Cappuccino Chip & Blueberries. So amazing!!
Jeff and I are hitting the Farmers’ Market bright and early tomorrow morning so I’m off to bed!
Have a great night!!

yay! I’m so glad you checked out the co-op! isn’t is amazing?! I’m bummed there’s no whole food here too, but its a decent substitute (although I have hear WF is looking into the area and they’re building a Fresh market in Latham – yay!!)
You should check out the Schenectady farmer’s market sometime too. I just discovered it and I’m in love. It’s on Sundays.
That’s awesome you found a WF substitute! Are the prices better than WF? I did a Jewel/WF price comparision chart on my blog the other day and interestingly found that WF had BETTER prices for many items, but sadly they are both so expensive in my area, yuck!
Great eats!!
Have fun at the farmer’s market!!
Lauren- Jeff and I went to the Saratoga Farmers’ Market today!! It was amazing!! We’ve also been to the one in Troy! We’ll have to check out the Schenectedy one too!
Val- The prices were amazing!! We paid about $13 for all the things pictured above!!
