Running Cheerleader!

Don’t forget to enter my Saratoga Salsa and Spice Company Giveaway!! I’ll be choosing three winners on Wednesday, August 12th!

Is it weird that when I drive past people running on the road, I want to yell and beep and cheer them on out the window? I seriously get really excited when I see people exercising! What would you do if you were out on your daily run and some crazy lady drove by waving and yelling words of encouragement at you? Thinking about that makes me laugh a lot.

With that said, I’d like to inform all of you that I am now officially a Journalism Major and English and Bio Minor. I am psyched that I officially made the switch. I found out today that UAlbany has a class called Exercise Physiology. Um, amazing!

Now, on to my eats and such:

I had to go over to my school this morning to change my major at the Advisement Office, so I snacked on Carrots and Sundried Tomato & Basil Hummus before I left.

After I got all my school stuff situated, I headed to Sports Authority for fun! Do you just wander around Health Food and Fitness Stores for fun, or is it just me? I tried on a bunch of workout clothes and finally decided on these for spinning

I worked up an appetite while trying on clothes and decided it was time for this:

I did the half & half deal with Low-fat Garden Vegetable Soup and the Medditeranean Veggie Sandwich

Here’s the menu description of the sandwich:

Zesty Peppadew piquant peppers, feta cheese, cucumbers, lettuce, tomatoes, onions and cilantro hummus on our Tomato Basil bread.

It was ok. Nothing special. It sounded amazing but I really shouldn’t have expected anything fantastic from Panera anyway. I ate the whole 1/2 sandwich and half the soup and took the rest home.

I had an interview at Teavana at 3:30 so after hanging around at home for a while, I headed to the mall a bit early to grab an afternoon snack.

This was a Grande Iced Skinny Vanilla Latte. I was really early for my interview, so I wandered around the mall for a while. I really have a shopping problem!

Yankee Candle had all of the Fall Candles out and I fell in love with Almond Cookie. I love anything Autumn related. It’s probably my favorite season! What’s yours? I also bought a planner at Borders. I’m going to need one once the semester starts. I also want to plan all my workouts out ahead of time so I stick to them.

So, how did my interview go?

I think it went very well. It was a group interview. I’ll find out on Tuesday if a) they want to hire me, or b) if they want me to come back for an individual interview. The awesome part about the interview was that we got to pick a tea from the menu and they brewed it for us! The catch was that we had to role play and sell it to them at the end of the interview. I didn’t take a picture because it was not the time or place but I got an Iced Sweet Lily White Tea.  This tea was awesome. It had rose and marigold petals in it combined with apple, lemongrass, and cardamom. It was perfect on ice.

I really hope I get the job because it would awesome to work there! Keep your fingers crossed!

Right now I’m munching on the same bag of  almonds from Sunday. Still got some left! I swear this a Mary Poppins Style bag of almonds. It’s never ending!

Going to make some sort of Pasta with Grains and Veggies tonight. I’ll be back later with that!

How are you at interviews? Do you get really nervous or do you keep your cool?

I tend to get really nervous before the interview and then I’m fine once I’m there.

Have a great evening!

  1. I “interview”(audition) more than I actually get the job so I am used to it by now….try to just enjoy the actual process and not get too caught up in expectations! But this isn’t typical of most careers….

  2. I would love it if someone cheered for me when I was running! People here usually try to run me over or make fun of me lol!

  3. Crossing fingers for you!

If someone yelled random words of encouragement to me, I imagine I’d have a totally lost/confused look on my face, but I’d appreciate it hehe 🙂

  4. I’m the same way, I get VERY nervous prior to the interview, and then once I’m there, I’m all good! I bet you rocked it (although I’m not a fan of group interviews!) and I hope you hear back from them with good news!

Ah Crossgates, how I miss thee 😉

I think that would be so encouraging (and okay, a bit creepster) to hear someone shouting helpful things to be when I’m running! LOL

  5. Huh, I read about your almond cookie candle and I remembered I have cookies in my oven (just warming at 100°F but still, I’d most possibly forget about them!!).
It would be fun to see someone wave at me and encouraging me while running!
