Don’t forget to enter my Saratoga Salsa and Spice Company Giveaway!! I’ll be choosing three winners on Wednesday, August 12th!
Sorry for the delayed post. My morning was hectic and involved two different Farmer’s Markets. Notable purchases include maple syrup and corn bread rye for my parents.
I noticed that I was out of bananas when I started to make my oats this morning. Instead of cooking my regular banana oats, I decided to make Blueberry Cherry Oats with coconut & flax

What’s inside:
- 1/2 Cup Organic Quick Oats
- 1/2 Cup Water
- 1/2 Light Vanilla Soy Milk
- 1/4 Cup Blueberries
- 5 or 6 Cherries, chopped
- Pinch of Flax
- Spoonful of Shredded Coconut

In the pot
This came out well but it was definitely not as good as banana oats.

What’s on top:
- More Shredded Coconut
- Spoonful Organic PB
- 1/4 Hazelnut Waffle, crumbled (from Damjana)
YUM! I didn’t eat all of it because it was very filling.
I sampled many things at the Farmer’s Market including mini baguettes topped with tomato, mozzarella, and basil, Blueberry Wine, Black Bean Hummus, Basil Pesto, and Wine Jelly. I also had a bite of Jeff’s egg sandwich even though I wasn’t really hungry. I had to try it! I didn’t buy that much because I’m going to my parents’ house for two weeks.
Now I’m back home trying to figure out what to do with this beautiful day! I didn’t go to the gym this morning so maybe I’ll go for a bike ride after lunch. I’m off to have leftover pasta. I also bought a zucchini this morning. Going to try my hand at raw pasta!
I’m not having the happiest day in the world so some funny stories would be nice!
Hope you’re having a wonderful day!!

Gosh, funny stories…. well it’s not super funny but when I was making pizza last night, the plan was to make 2 from different ingredients – one for hubby, one for me. However, I forgot which batch I threw the yeast into, so I had to throw one away completely, and the other one I added MORE yeast, just to be sure, so it had 2x as much as it should haha. Basically, it was almost a huge disaster, I had to throw in extra ingredients to make up for it and it could have tasted better.
Wow, what a lame story haha. If I think of anything ACTUALLy funny, I’ll be sure to post it
Also, I would love to enter your giveaway but I won’t eat the stuff (nothing wrong with them, just not “raw” – but they look great!)
Mmm your oats look yummy! All your farmers market samples sound great too! Sorry you’re not having a happy day, hope it turns around for you!
oooh hope you enjoy the raw pasta – are you trying christy’s recipe?
I was actually just going to wing it but now I think I’m making pancakes for dinner instead.
aww I hope your day gets better!!
lovely bowl of oats
ACK I thought I added you to my reader! I don’t know what happened, but I’m glad I checked here to see what was up!
Sorry today’s oats didn’t turn out as fab as you’d hoped. Sometimes experiments turn into wonderful things you make all the time. And sometimes? Not so much.
A funny story (I thought MarathonVal’s was pretty funny!) today when someone asked Maxine if she could talk she said “I pooped out a cat hairball”. Yup. She can talk.
I agree those oats looks fabulous! But nothing is better than simple banana

Sorry you’re not having the best day
Here’s a funny story for you: Last year I took microbiology, and for some reason my lab group just never knew what was going on . . . the directions just made no sense to us! Part of each lab involved drawing pictures of what we saw under the microscope, and for weeks we were drawing these weird little squiggly lines and wondering how everyone else was drawing well-defined organisms since that’s definitely not what we saw. About 6 weeks in we realized that we were supposed to be using immersion oil on the slides before putting them under the microscope . . . oops! I can only imagine what our TA thought of us turning in all those squiggly lines!
Aw, why so blue??
Those oats look fab, but I agree, banana makes them!
Thumbs UP for Farmer’s Market goodies!!
you’re such a wonder to be able to eat 1/4 of a waffer, hehe, my package disappeared within 24 hours. i like your oats!
