I think bed blogging is my favorite way to blog. It combines two of my favorite things: blogging and my big, comfy bed. Where is your favorite place to blog?
Jeff and I had a great day with my brother and his fiancee, Angela. I just realized that I keep telling you his fiancee’s name but I never mentioned his so let me rephrase that sentence: Jeff and I had a great day with David and Angela. We went to another local brewery for lunch called Brown’s Brewing Company
I ordered the Cherry Raspberry Ale and drank about half of it

It was tasty. There was actually a cherry floating in the beer!
For lunch, I ordered the Spinach Salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette (minus the blue cheese crumbles) :

I stole Jeff's pickle!
This salad was beyond awesome! I spooned some of the thick balsamic vinaigrette onto the salad but aside from that, the juices from the strawberries and mandarin oranges really provided a great flavor. I was surprised to see that the balsamic vinaigrette was thick and not runny. It tasted amazing but can anybody explain this? I’m used to runny balsamic and have never seen it thick before. Keeping with the sharing spirit, I sampled everybody’s food. Everything blew me away completely! The fries were incredible, as was Jeff’s burger. David’s pulled pork sandwich was amazing and Angela’s chicken sandwich almost knocked me out of my seat! I would go back to this place in a heartbeat.
After lunch, we wandered over to a fun coffeehouse called Spill’n the Beans Coffeehouse & Bistro
This place was really cute and I definitely plan on going back. I ordered a Nonfat Vanilla Iced Latte

The bistro menu looks awesome and I really want to go back for lunch.
We spent a couple hours walking around and digesting our lunches and then decided to hit Emack & Boilo’s

Of course, a fun day is not complete without ice cream! Jeff and I shared a small cup of Coconut Ice Cream

So yummy! Sorry for the blurry picture. I couldn’t wait to dig into this baby.
When we got back to the apartment, David and Angela packed up and left. We had such a fun time with them. It was sad to see them go.
Jeff and I lounged around for a couple hours and then decided to eat the leftovers from last night for dinner. I started off with some of the amazing Apple Gorgonzola Salad

And then heated up some WW Spaghetti to go with the leftover Chicken and Meatballs

This was just as good reheated as it was last night!
I had a couple blocks of Lindt 90% Dark Chocolate for dessert. Now, I’m dreaming of a toasted Pumpkin-Banana Muffin for breakfast tomorrow!
I forgot to mention in my last post: these muffins are AWESOME! Kudos to Veggie Girl for such an amazing recipe! Everybody LOVED them!
What is the best meal you’ve ever had at a restaurant?
Have a great night!

I am reading blogs from bed right now too!! This is definitely my favorite place. I have wireless here in MN but not in my apartment back home in Pittsburgh, so this will be awesome for the next 2 months.
That cherry raspberry ale sounds awesome, I love trying new and fun flavored beers!
You are so right about bed blogging!! I enjoy blogging the majority of the time, but sometimes it feels like a drag when I’m doing it late and night when I’m ready for bed…. but when I do it IN bed, it just feels relaxing
Also, I’m guessing the balsamic was thicker because that’s what happens when you reduce it! If you pour balsamic into a preheated skillet and let it simmer until it is about 1/3 the amount of what you started with, some of the liquid will evaporate and thus it will become thicker and syrupy and delicious.
This makes an awesome sauce for fruit and other desserts, too!
I was surprised by the thick balsamic the first time I had it too (at bountiful bread). no clue whats up with it, and I don’t think I like it as much. I guess they just emulsify it more? whipping lots of air will make oil get thick like that (think mayo)
Aww yay!! So glad that the muffins were a hit
Best meal I’ve ever had at a restaurant = ANY of them at Pure Food & Wine in NYC.
i love coconut ice cream….especially combined with chocolate, tastes like a mounds bar. i had this combo of gelato when i was italy almost every day, twice a day….
Ohh, your beer sounds delish! We have an emack and bolios here, too. Love it, but rarely go there for some reason.
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog!
I love fruity beers — the one you saw in my hand at the Taste of the Nation was the blueberry wheat from Shipyard. Yum. I also love Blue Moon with fresh oranges.
I LOVE Blueberry beer! And I also love wheat beers so that combination sounds amazing!
