OK, I feel much better this morning than I did last night. I spent all day yesterday at Barnes & Noble reading for one of my classes. I was there from 2-6 and didn’t get all of my reading done. So after I drove home, went to pilates, and ate dinner, I had to do more reading. And this was just for one class. The professor wanted us to read half of Truman Capote’s In Cold Blood by today. It’s an interesting book but I’m not a fast reader. That being said, I still have 15 pages to read before class today. Ugh!
Let’s backtrack a bit.
Yesterday morning, after I got home from my spinning class, I hopped in the shower and then heated up the leftover oats from the morning before.

I added PB, Plain Chobani, and Blueberries to the top. After breakfast, I drove to my only class of the day and stopped at Starbucks on the way for an iced coffee with skim milk.
I was hungry for lunch by the time I got home from class so I decided to make a sandwich in the George Foreman. I used an Arnold Sandwich Thin, Sliced Tomatoes, Shredded Mozzarella, and a sprinkle of basil.

(Excuse the mess in the background of this picture) On the side, I had grapes and blue corn chips with salsa

I also poured a bit of balsamic vinegar on my plate for dipping.
I had a couple blocks of dark chocolate for dessert

Then is was off to Barnes & Noble for me. I ordered my first drink from the cafe when when got to the the bookstore. It was a (unpictured) Tall Nonfat Vanilla Latte (with one pump of the real vanilla syrup) I ordered my second drink about two hours later and it was amazing. It was a Tall Green Tea. The girl at the counter asked if I wanted the orange one or the coconut. I chose coconut and I LOVED IT! I’ll have to buy it the next time I’m there.

YUM!
My only snack while I was at the bookstore was a Pecan Pie Larabar from the box that Larabar sent me

It was very nutty and I liked it.
I left B&N at around 6:00 to go home and get ready for my Pilates class at 7. When I got home, I was a little hungy, so I snacked on a small bowl of Kashi Island Vanilla Cereal with light vanilla soy milk

Pilates was relaxing and calmed me down a bit. I’m going to look forward to Wednesday nights all semester long.
I came home to Jeff in the kitchen making dinner for me!

He made WW Spaghetti with marinara sauce and green beans. I was so excited! He’s so sweet.
For dessert, I devoured two Newman’s Own ‘oreos’

I actually saved that picture in my computer as Truman. I have Truman Capote on the brain.
Now, I’m off to complete the following to-do list:
- Coffee
- Read 15 more pages of book
- Google Reader
- Gym
- Breakfast
- 2 classes
- Lunch
- Barnes & Noble AGAIN!
Please bear with me for the following week. The first week of classes is always the hardest for me until I get into a regular routine and get organized. I promise to be blogging and commenting on a better schedule soon! I hope you understand!
How do you get organized?
Have a great day!

I understand the feeling of being overwhelmed and what I do to make me feel more relaxed and calm: make 1 giant to do list…this includes all my classes and everything that is not class related. And I look at all my syllabii (plural for syllabus..so weird haha) for each of my classes and write down when every test, hw, assignment, etc is due on my calendar. It really helps to see it all laid out.
Also–when I have a lot of work to do and for different classes–I act like it is my “job” and block off a time period for each task. So like from 1 to 2: Digital Design and then from 2:30 to 4:00pm Strategic Planning…something like that.
Calendars, lists, color coding–it’s all a must in my book!
i hope today goes well! Getting back into the swing of things was always tough, but you can do it!
Takes time to get into a routine, definitely! To-do lists, planning ahead, etc help a lot. You can do it!
Fueled by Green and Black’s, you can do ANYTHING!!! Hehe.
We definitely understand, I think it’s a crazy time of the year for everyone right now.
This post makes me long for those college days, isn’t that funny? When you’re in you can’t wait to get out and when you’re out you miss it!
Take it easy kiddo!
Take all the time you need, Rebecca and definetly be sure to take care of yourself!!!
To organize my schedule, I have to write everything down and analyze my time windows and due dates. For some reason, I feel a need to have a hard copy of my calendar. So, I do it all old school with a pen and a planner.
Geez you sound like me! Going back to work this week is making my blogging suffer a wee bit………. I love your multiple daily doses of caffeine, something else I’ve found myself doing. I went from being caffeine free most days of the week over the summer, to all of a sudden having 2+ cups a day to get myself through the work!
But don’t worry it will get easier over time (for both of us!) once we get back into the routine. Sticking with pilates/yoga definitely helps, I’ve found, even if its tough to fit it in.
Have a great Friday!
