Lazy Tuesday

Oh man! I’ve had such a LONG day. As soon as I click publish, I am going to sleep. I’m still not feeling great so I’m sorry if this post seems a little rushed, again.

I did not want to get out of bed this morning. I skipped the gym again and didn’t wake up until 8:00.

Breakfast was courtesy of a Bear Naked Sample I received in the mail a couple days ago.

If you want a sample, you can sign up for one on their website. I choose the Banana Nut cereal. The ingredient list was kind of long but I recognized everything on it. I had the entire sample bag for breakfast this morning (220 calories) with vanilla soy milk.

I knew that the cereal wouldn’t be enough to hold me over until lunch on its own so I had a MultiBran VitaTop on the side

I really liked the cereal! It had a lot of flavor and crunch to it. I’d definitely buy it at the grocery store.  And my VitaTop was lovely, as always.

I headed to campus with a full day ahead of me: 3 classes from 10-4:05 and work from 6-10. I even packed my lunch

29-9lunch

  • AB, Banana, and Raspberry-Peach Preserves on the 12 Grain Nature’s Pride bread I received yesterday
  • Peach Chobani
  • Newman’s Own Organics Cinnamon Sugar Soy Crisps

I was all set.

Well folks, I made it through one class. I felt way too sick after my first class to sit through the other ones and I knew if I tried, I wouldn’t be able to go to work tonight. So, I went home and slept away the afternoon.

But what about that amazing lunch!?!?!? Don’t worry, I ate it all in shifts. I ate the soy crisps on the walk from class to my car.  My decision to go home actually worked out pretty well because I was able to pop my sandwich in the George Foreman and it came out like this

Warm and gooey and so yummy!

After my nap, I had my Chobani with Pecan Granola

Dinner was lazy and came from a box

29-9annie's

This was such a simple dinner but Jeff and I agreed that we’re going to stick to Annie’s Mac & Cheese in the future. This dinner was fun but we didn’t really like the sauce.

29-9dinner (2)

I added Black Pepper and Frank’s Red Hot after this picture was taken. To hold me over for my four hour shift at work, I also had a  unpictured piece of toast with dinner.

My throat was so sore when I got home from work. Edy’s Slow Churned Pumpkin Ice Cream helped make me feel better

With Chocolate Chips, of course.

Well, I’m off to bed! I really don’t see myself going to the gym tomorrow morning. Like I said last night, I’m not going until I feel 100% better.

Do you workout when you’re sick? Or do you give your body time off like me?

Have a fantastic Wednesday! <3

  • I think you are making the decision to wait to go to the gym! It’s always tempting, but it’s not worth getting your body more exhausted and thus, risking getting more sick. I haven’t worked out since Saturday and it’s killing me, especially since I have a marathon in 1 1/2 weeks and I’m freaking out!! But I’m gonna keep resting until my body tells me to do otherwise :)

    Feel better soon!!

  • I got the bear naked Cranberry raisin one! it was really good. :) Have you looked at my page? the first post i did yesterday (i did 2) was for you! Hope you’re feeling better!

  • aw, I’m sorry you’re still feeling bad!

If I’m feeling bad enough to stay home from work/school, I don’t work out. I just don’t want to push it and keep myself sick longer.

that sandwich sounds so good! I love grilled pb sandwiches.

  • I want to go home from work right now!! Your sandwhich looks so great! I have never grilled a pb and j. What am i missing out on geeze!! I am so excited to try it! i have to wait a few weeks though cus i’m not eating sugar for 30 days. Even though pb is not that sugary, its more the idea of not doing it. ya know? I can’t wait to ding in when i’m done!!

  • I always seem to drool when I visit your blog!

That sandwich looks heavenly! I promise to recreate that!

    I hope you’re feeling better today :)

  • ooohhh the banana nut sample looks delish! and that ice cream – i need to buy that and STAT! i am seeing it everywhere!

  • It seems like everyone is getting sick lately! If I do work out, I’ll typically take it easier. I follow the rule that if thesickness is my neck or above, I’m fine to work out, but below the neck and I won’t.

  • Nut butter and jelly sandwich is delish, grilled makes it even better!! I hope you’re feeling 110% soon :)

  • Edys Pumpkin icecream is the best! Glad your feeling better!

  • Sorry you still aren’t feeling well. I tend not to go to the gym if I feel really ill like you have. If I just have a head cold I go but take it easy or do something at home.

I just had my bare naked sample for my lunch. I mixed it in some greek yogurt and vanilla. So good and crunchy.

  • Meg

I have been keeping an eye out for the Edy’s pupmkin ice cream and can’t find it anywhere! It looks delicious! As for working out when sick, if I just have a head cold I try to motivate myself to go, even if it’s an easy workout. But if I have aches or a fever I definitely take is easy.

  • oh i never ever ever work out when i’m sick!
