Newman's Own Organics Giveaway Winner!

Hey Guys! Sorry for the lame posts lately. I’ve been swamped with school work. I have 3 essays due and a midterm on Tuesday! On the bright side, Jeff and I are having a Halloween Party on Saturday (want to come?)

Speaking of Halloween, I LOVED reading about your plans!  Thank you all for entering and I wish I could send you all Newman’s Own Organics products! Unfortunately, random.org can only pick one winner and that winner is…….

BRANDI from Branappetit who said:

Oh, i want this so bad! I can’t find ANY Newman’s Own ginger ANYTHING here and they always look so good on the blogs that I’ve seen them on.

duh – forgot my Halloween plans, I was so excited :) We normally pass out candy to the kids in our neighborhood while we sit and talk with our neighbors. I think my family will be here that weekend, too, so I don’t know!

Congrats Brandi! I know I’ve mailed you things in the past but can you please send me your address again to beccarose21@aol.com. Thanks!

Today, I have work from 1-6 and then I have to write a story for my journalism class on the NYS Law to add nutrition information to restaurant menus and how it is affecting restaurants and customers (can you tell I chose the topic?) How do you feel about this topic? I’d love to quote you guys in my story!

I promise I’ll write a better post VERY soon! <3

Have a great day!!

  • Goodluck with the school craziness! Personally, I’m all for nutrition information at restaurants. I feel in one way it’s not the best scenario to not be able to go out and just enjoy food without worrying about nutrition. But the fact of the matter is is that the restaurant industry has put us into the position where we need to know more about our meals because they don’t always use quality ingredients or sensible portions. I would like also to see a breakdown of protein, fat, and carbohydrates on the menus, since these are really what’s behind the calories and the more important matter for assembling a well-balanced plate.

  • I love the idea of nutrition facts on menus. I want to know more than just the calories thought because the amount of fat, protein and fiber are key. People can ignore the info if they want and still eat everything the way they normally would. But for those of us who are wanting to be more conscious it is key. So often the “healthy” sounding thing on the menu can be one of the worst offenders. Maybe this will force the restaurant industry to make more quality food instead of quantity. I for one would go out to eat more often if this were the case.

  • ohh can’t wait to hear about the halloween party, I need some costume ideas

  • FUN, a Halloween party!!! Looking forward to seeing the pictures!
