Sangria and Memoirs

Hello! Long time, no see!

I’m sorry that I haven’t posted in a couple days but I have a very good excuse.

I have become a famous artist

Don’t even try to steal that picture. I’ll find you.

On a different note, I have completely failed to remember to bring my camera over the past couple days. This is really a shame because Jeff and I hung out with two of our favorite friends last night, Jess and Seth

Aren’t they adorable? I met Jess during my first semester at UAlbany and she is so awesome. When Jeff and I met Jess’ boyfriend, Seth, he and Jeff  clicked instantly and we’ve all been good friends ever since. Jeff and Seth talk about math and science while Jess and I talk about English and Writing. It’s perfect.

Anyway, we went to a cute little Mexican Cafe in downtown Albany called El Loco. I don’t eat Mexican food that often so I’m not the best judge but I really liked the food and the atmosphere was great. We were seated at a round table in the corner by the window.  Jess and I split a Carafe of Sangria and I ate way too many chips.

I ordered the Ancho Chicken in Green Salsa Quesadilla

A whole wheat flour tortilla folded over chunked breast of chicken spiced with ancho-chipotle chiles, and covered in tomatillo salsa covered in jack and cheddar cheeses and broiled. Served with Mexican brown rice and a salad

I scraped off the cheese and ate the entire quesadilla along with some of the rice and most of the salad. It was really good. Jess and I drank most of the sangria and at then Jess poured some in her water by accident. It was hilarious. We definitely stopped drinking after that.

Earlier that day, I tried to go to a spinning class but the power went out at the gym. I decided to treat it as another rest day. I’ve been taking a lot of them lately because I’ve been so stressed out by school. In fact, I was really looking forward to spin yesterday morning because it’s like therapy to me. At least I am still going to a class this weekend.

Most of my meals today looked like this:

I didn’t even bother to take other pictures because I seriously had PB Toast 3 times today.

  1. Fuel before tackling 6 miles on the crossramp at the gym this morning.
  2. Banana and Cinnamon Raisin Swirl PB Toast for breakfast
  3. 1 piece of toast with regular PB for dinner tonight

I also had a bag of Stacy’s Cinnamon Sugar Pita Chips from the vending machine at school. Jeff and I stopped by a diner for lunch today and my meal there  is the reason I only had toast for dinner tonight. I ordered the French Dip which came with french fries. I ate less than half of everything on my plate but I haven’t had french fries in a while and they just didn’t sit well in my stomach.

I finally felt ok to have toast a little while ago. For dessert I had the two Newman-O’s that you see in my masterpiece above and only two of the peanut M&Ms. I also couldn’t resist a mini Reese’s PB cup.

Now I’m just waiting for The Mentalist to come on at 10:00 and then I’m off to bed. Tomorrow is reserved for homework and google reader (I have 206 posts piled up and I’m sure there will be more tomorrow)

For my Literary Journalism class today, I had an assignment to write a 4 page memoir about a significant part of my life.  A couple years ago, before Jeff and I lived together, I was driving home from his house and a stranger followed me home. It was an extremely traumatic experience and it still upsets me to think about. It was the first thing that came to mind when I started to write my memoir.

What would you write about?

Have a great night and an amazing Friday!! Happy almost Weekend!
