Goals, Yoga, and Grapefruits

Push yourself to do one thing a week outside your comfort zone

2010 Goals

  • Graduate in December 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in journalism and English
  • Land a great summer internship
  • Find a part time job I enjoy
  • Continue eating healthfully while indulging in moderation
  • Continue going to the gym regularly
  • Go back to spinning and pilates when I get back to Albany
  • Tone up- work on strength training more often- not just cardio(thankyoujillianmichaels)
  • Start waking up early again! (I loved taking 6:30 Pilates Classes over the summer!)
  • Excel in all of  my classes (taking 5 writing intensive ones this semester- eek!)
  • Procrastinate Less (because it feels so much better to get things done ahead of time)
  • Stress less (by procrastinating less)
  • Improve my blog
  • Juggle blogging AND school work efficiently (like I didn’t do last semester)
  • Have an awesome 23rd Birthday (because I love birthdays!)

That felt so great to get out in writing! What are your goals for the new year?

Monday morning started with my new obsession.

Peanut Butter Puffins!! I could seriously eat a whole box in one sitting. Don’t tempt me. This is dangerous!

I was missing my banana oats by lunchtime so I  decided to have a bowl.

I made these a little differently than I usually do. I cooked the following ingredients all together:

  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1/2 vanilla soy milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 sliced banana
  • Tsp of Cinnamon
  • Small handful of dried cranberries
  • Small handful of chopped walnuts

I topped it with PB and a pinch of Brown Sugar. Incredible! I was so sad when it was gone. I made myself feel better with chocolate, naturally.

Plus one more unpictued PB Milk Chocolate

I had a DVD Workout Party in my living room after lunch.

I wasn’t the biggest fan of this type of yoga. I had to stop the dvd when the instructor started talking about fire breathing and required me to say Harrr while I inhaled and exhaled. It just wasn’t for me. I’m not a yoga expert by any means though.  Click here if you want to learn more it. Any recommendations for great yoga/pilates dvds?

My post-workout snack consisted of PB on WW Toast and 1/2 an apple.

For dinner, my mother made a feast!

I was in charge of the Sweet Potato Fries while my mom made her version of Chicken Marsala with Asparagus, and leftover Mac&Cheese from Christmas Eve. I had a little of everything.

Plus seconds of the Mac&Cheese and Sweet Potato Fries. Yum!

For dessert, I followed in Tina’s footsteps and baked a grapefruit.

Mine doesn’t look nearly as delicious as Tina’s did but it tasted wonderful. I topped it with a bit of brown sugar and cinnamon. I baked it in the oven for 10 minutes but only broiled it for 5 minutes. I think it would have exploded if I tried to broil it for longer.

I had a cup of Tazo Berry Blossom White Tea (got it in my stocking for Christmas) with my grapefruit.

And two more unpictured Dove PB Milk Chocolates. I couldn’t resist!

What is your favorite type of tea?

I love tea! Especially floral ones!

What is your favorite healthy dessert?

I usually like a square or two of extra dark chocolate

Until next time blogfaces!
