And Then I Ate My Weight…

On Thursday night, I ate a whole basket of chips.

OK, I lied. I didn’t eat a whole basket of chips but I did eat A LOT of them. Jeff and I met his parents for dinner at a Mexican restaurant called Santa Fe. It was perfect since I’d been craving Mexican the night before.

Sangria was a must.

White Sangria to be exact.

And then I ate my weight in Chicken Fajitas.

I really only had two since I filled up on the chips.  I meant to order these with Whole Wheat tortillas and White Rice and Black Beans instead of Mexican Rice and Pinto beans…but I forgot (I get sort of flustered ordering food sometimes). Oh a little, right? They were delicious!

After dinner, we headed right next door to the Tarrytown Music Hall to see The Blind Boys of Alabama and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. I’d never heard of either groups but it was a fun time and I’m glad I went! Thanks again to Jeff’s family for inviting me!!

When I woke up on Friday morning there was a fresh sheet of snow on the ground. I had a piece of whole wheat toast topped with peanut butter and then headed out to shovel my driveway. I consider shoveling a workout? Do you?

When I got back inside, I had a nice, warm bowl of Banana Pear Vanilla Cinnamon Oats (say that fivetimesfast)

This was my breakfast AND lunch since it was already 1:00pm.


  • 1/2 cup oats, 1/2 cup vanilla soy milk, 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 sliced banana
  • 1/2 sliced pear
  • Cinnamon
  • Too much vanilla extract (I accidentally dumped something ridiculous like 2 tablespoons into the pan)

On top:

  • Dried Cranberries
  • More Cinnamon
  • PB

And as if I didn’t have enough oatmeal, after brunch I had a homemade oatmeal chocolate chip cookie in honor of Cookie Friday.

And then I did these:

I really liked the Pilates DVD. It was challenging and I really felt like it was working my whole body. I also did the 12 minute bonus workout at the end.  After I was done with the pilates dvd, I decided to do yoga too. It was a PiYo kind of day.

For dinner, my mom made Barilla Ricotta and Spinach Tortelloni.

She added a Tsp of EVOO and Parmesan Cheese to the pasta.

I had a salad composed of romaine, tomatoes, cucumbers, walnuts, dried cranberries and a spoonful of Annie’s Lite Raspberry Vinigrette on the side. It was a wonderful dinner.

For dessert, I had the other Dark Chocolate Reese’s PB Cup.

I am super excited for the weekend. My parents and Jeff’s parents are going on a date tonight! Jeff and I are tagging along for free food. Tomorrow, I’m heading into the city for a blogger meetup!! (eeeeeeeee!!) Can’t Wait!

What is your favorite type of food?

Mine is definitely Italian with Chinese and Mexican coming in as close seconds.

    I think my favorite would have to be american. Real exciting, lol. I like oriental dishes a lot, too. Anything that’s simple and plain

  2. I hope you had a great time in NY!!! Haha I know what you mean about restaraunts- I can never make a decision and then I always studder when the waiter comes over. It’s quite embarassing!! haha
