Blogging Flashback

I was looking through old, OLD blog posts earlier. I’m talking back when I first started blogging and I noticed so many differences in my blogging style and even my personality between then and now. So many, in fact, that I decided it’s necessary to point  some of them out.

  • I used my cell phone camera for photos- don’t ever do this! I actually don’t even know why I thought it was OK to post such horrible pictures!
  • I was counting calories and talking about it in my posts. Ugh. I can’t even imagine doing that now.
  • I used wayyy too many exclamation points!!!!!!! Even for things like, “After breakfast, I took a walk!!” or “I decided to have a sandwich for lunch!” It seems very silly now.
  • I used the word amazing to describe everything. I still use it for some things but thankfully not as much as I did a year ago.
  • I referred to Jeff not by his name but as my boyfriend. Psh! You all know who Jeff is by now! Don’t you!? Now you do.
  • I had red placemats on my kitchen table. Not really a style or personality thing but I’m kind of wondering where those placemats went. Hmmm…

It’s definitely funny and even a little embarrassing to look back at old blog posts to see how much I’ve changed and how much my blogging style has changed. It also really shows how much my blog has grown over the year.

OK- blogging flashback over.

I went to a spin class at my gym this morning. I used to go to spin all the time.  I stopped going in December after I had my wisdom teeth pulled. I also stayed with my parents for a month during my school’s winter break  and didn’t have access to a gym. I guess my body was trying to tell me something because I subconsciously registered for Spring classes for the same time as my regular spin class, so I stopped going all together. I started going again about a month ago when I introduced my friend, Jess, to spinning. She loved it and I got hooked again. Then I started having trouble with my knee, so I decided to stop going again. I woke up this morning and thought I’d try one more time. I was very careful during class and paid extra attention to my knee. Guess what? No pain! I think going to a class occasionally will be fine but I’m not going to go as much I used to.

After class, I did some upper body and lower body weight training and then called it a day.

I wanted something fun for breakfast so I made Multi-Grain Waffles.

I added blueberries to the batter and topped my waffles with sliced banana and shredded unsweetened coconut. I actually wasn’t too impressed with this Eating Well recipe. The waffles were dry and chewy. Maybe I did something wrong. I’ll definitely try the recipe again just to make sure.

For lunch, I had leftover chili with cornbread.

This chili is going to last me all week! I could easily eat it every day without getting bored.

Afternoon snacks looked like this:

Cheerios with Vanilla Almond Milk

Whole Wheat Toast with PB

I spent the majority of my day hanging around the apartment. Jeff and I took a walk at around 5 and decided to make a pizza for dinner when we got back. We used the dough I made on Monday.

I got the toppings ready…

Red Onion and Garlic

While Jeff rolled out the dough. He’s better at it than I am. He makes circular pizzas while I make alien shaped ones.

Before:

Jeff wasn't done sprinkling on the cheese when this picture was taken

After:

I seriously don’t see a reason to ever order pizza again. All we really need to make our pizzas absolutely perfect is a pizza stone. Anyone want to donate one!!? Just kidding.

I had two slices with a salad on the side.

Tell me you’re not craving pizza right now. Don’t lie! :-)

Dessert was another bowl of cheerios with dark chocolate chips and shredded coconut mixed in.

This was a surprisingly delicious combination. It was  just  enough to satisfy my after dinner chocolate craving.

Well, I’m off to sleep. I have my internship in the morning.

What personality changes have you noticed about yourself over the past year?

Have a great Thursday! <3
