So, somebody found my blog today by searching for the term “Squirrel Warrior.” WHAT?
I’d like to hug whoever was searching for that. It made me laugh so hard!

Ankle Injury Update
For those of you who may be new to my blog, I hurt my ankle while running four miles a few weeks ago. (Here’s the dilemma)
I went to my sports med. appointment today. Turns out, I have Ankle Tendonitis caused by lack of support in the shoes I’ve been wearing. I worked at a running store and was fitted for shoes, so I don’t really know how this happened. I run in Mizuno Inspires, which are mid-stability shoes. I know I over-pronate. The doctor agreed.
Basically, from lack of proper support, I was getting a mini shin splints in my inner ankle. This was causing the outer part of my ankle to over-compensate, and tada: Tendonitis.
The doctor told me no running for 3-4 weeks.
He also said that I need to buy Superfeet inserts to put in my shoes. I can go on a few short runs before my follow-up appointment on August 30, but only if I have the inserts. He told me to be prepared to run at my follow-up appointment.
He also gave me a topical anti-inflammatory gel to put on my ankle:
I have to apply it four times a day.
I actually originally made the appointment for my shoulder, not my ankle. So I also found out that I have Bicep Tendonitis.
The doctor gave me a sheet with rehabilitation exercises for that:
My shoulder has been bothering me for a while, and specifically when I raise my arms above my head in Body Pump. The doc. said no overhead exercises for 3-4 weeks.
Oy! I’m falling apart!
Well, the good news is the new Rosey Rebecca site will be up tomorrow morning. Can’t wait! My site might be down for a bit in the early morning, so I hope no one needs to find a squirrel warrior at 2 a.m. They will be out of luck if they do.
The other good news is that I went to Uncommon Grounds for lunch today.
PB + a Cinnamon Raisin Bagel=Yum!
I’m at work, serving lattes as we speak! Catch you from the new RoseyRebecca.com!
Questions Of The Day:
- Tell me about your worst sports-related injury. Don’t have any? LUCKY!

Have a great night! <3

When I got my knee injuries (in answer to #1, those are my worst injuries), I use that gel. It’s great. I’m not sure if it helped my knees hurt less, but I think it definitely took down the swelling and inflammation.
As for the photos, I pick #2. I love the landscape and that dress is adorable.
I vote B, that dress is so pretty!
You poor thing!! I hope you heal ASAP. I got Achilles Tendonitis years ago and had to wear a big brace for 10 days. It seemed to cure it.
OMG i’m gonna call you squirrel warrior now. Hahahaha. that’s hilarious.
Here are my answers
1. Tell me about your worst sports-related injury. Don’t have any? LUCKY!
My hip, which you already know about. Just got x-rayed today and going to find out what it is tomorrow
2. Tell me what you would like to see more of on RoseyRebecca.com
I think it’s great the way it is!!!
3. Should I stop moderating comments? Can’t decide.
You should do what I do, only moderate comments from first time commenters.
4. Finally, VOTE: which picture do you like best for my side bar:
I like #2 because I love that dress! I have the same one in pink and black.
I love all the photo options! Not sure what your new website is like but maybe you can rotate them? I’m having a hard time picking just one.
I’m excited to see your new design tomorrow.
Moderating comments – I have an option where I only moderate a first-time commenter…then after that, the person is recognized and “safe” to leave comments on the regular.
I had an undiagnosed ankle/heel injury from running earlier this summer. Didn’t run for 3 weeks, got new shoes (Brooks Launch) and it healed. (no pun intended).
I hope your ankle AND shoulder get better asap.
#1 photo.. you can see YOU the best, but #3 should go someplace too. haha
Second one!
1. Tell me about your worst sports-related injury. Don’t have any? LUCKY!
Uh 3 herniated discs in my lower spine probably caused by over rotation of my hip and running. I honestly have no idea how that happened. 1 year waiting for surgery was torturous and now 2 years post I don’t have any pain…back pain that is
2. Tell me what you would like to see more of on RoseyRebecca.com
I like seeing the little local places you try since I live close enough to try them
3. Should I stop moderating comments? Can’t decide.
Just moderate for the first comment. YOu can always remove a bad one later.
4. Finally, VOTE: which picture do you like best for my side bar: The dress is cute. Shows your personality.
Worst injury? Chondromalacia patella, which basically means the cartilage in my knee is damaged beyond repair and my kneecap is misaligned. It’s caused by overusing it so no more running for me! Basically I need a lot of physical therapy and possible surgery in the future to repair it.
I didn’t realize there was a name for over-pronation. I do that, too. I guess it has something to do with me having flat feet.
I’m glad you finally figured out what was wrong with your ankle! Rest up and 4 weeks will go by before you know it! Feel better!
The first picture of you is my absolute favorite! It’s a nice close up shot so we can see you the best in it! Also this might sound weird, but I like the colors in that one the best and they complement the colors of your banner well!
I also like the idea of only moderating first-time commenters.
I love the new layout so far! It’s a very nice improvement and I can’t wait to see its final touches!
yayy =)
I like the 3rd picture best.
I think you should keep moderating comments … that way you are the first to see them.
[...] But, the point is, I can run again! If you’re new to the blog, you might not know that I have ankle tendonitis. I haven’t been able to run, or do much of anything since the beginning of July. (I also have [...]
I have been dealing with an ankle injury for about a year and a half. It was initially diagnosed as an ankle sprain, except that I don’t remember spraining it, just a lot of pain one morning. The pain has lessened, and I wasn’t great about staying off of it or going to the DR until more recently, but after 2 months of physical therapy and an MRI that didn’t show anything (besides a small bone cyst in the heel that supposedly would not cause that), I still have pain when walking on it and no clue what it could be. The Physical therapist thought it was related to hip issues (which I can’t argue having), but I’m not sure if thats it or what that means. How was your tendonitis diagnosed…? MRI? X-ray? What type of dr…? I’d appreciate any tips
