Whew! I am back! I am normal. I am happy. I am Rosey.
If you’re following me on twitter or if you read my last post, you know that I’ve had a rough past couple of days. Thank you so much for all of your supportive comments and tweets. You guys are awesome and really helped me get through my tiny breakdown.
In the midst of my little freak-out on Sunday, I got up from my table at Uncommon Grounds in Saratoga Springs, and posted two Operation Beautiful notes in the bathroom. The above was one of them. You can see the other in my Dear Rebecca post.
While I was waiting tables at work last night, I approached a woman to take her order. We started to talk about healthy choices on the menu, and she said, “We seem to be very like-minded.”
I told her about my blog, and scribbled down my URL on a guest check.
When I returned with her food, she had my blog up on her laptop. She looked at me, pointed to the picture of my Operation Beautiful note, and asked, “Was this in Uncommon Grounds?”
Yes, I said.
“I was there yesterday,” she said, “I saw your note.”
And that was it. A complete stranger turned my day around.
Sometimes, the little things are all it takes to turn a bad day…
…a bad week…a bad month…a bad year…completely around
So, I present to you, a few of the little things that helped me through the rough weekend I’d been having.
In no particular order:
A Chamomile Soy Tea Latte with vanilla, honey, and cinnamon from Uncommon Grounds.
A Rosemary-Olive Bagel with Hummus and Tomatoes, also from Uncommon Grounds.
Blends (Blog Friends) Heather, Cynthia, and Jen ~ A random, surprise bag of gifts from Cynthia
Thinking about breakfast plans with Amy tomorrow morning.
Knowing that I’m going to see my nephew, Nicholas, for his first birthday in two weeks.
Nicholas’ feet.
Look at his little FEET.
Tell me about the little things that are making you happy today.
<3

I’m so glad you are feeling cheerier! I think it’s brave to admit when we are down and I think it’s awesome that follow your own advice and that of Operation Beautiful to spread positivity.:)
The little things really make the world go ’round
I love this… it brings us back to reality! Sometimes we have to remember the small things are what make us happy during day to day living.
Watching my husband put together our car seat in the car for preparation of baby!
And working even though I can’t do much 35 weeks pregnant. I appreciate working/listening to the elderly tell me stories everyday!
Hey Rebecca! I’m glad to hear that all is well–operation beautiful is SO inspirational, love the notes! Your nephew is ADORABLE by the way!! Love the pictures!
Little things that are making me happy:
- The rain
- A pretty necklace I stumbled upon the other day and just had to buy
- The good day I had today
Driving just to spend time with great friends for a few hours.
Lunch with Hunni for no reason at all.
Seeing kids smile.
Boy, do I LOVE that Operation Beautiful concept. Thank you for introducing it to me.
Mmm, I love uncommon grounds! I have never had that type of chai there though.. I’ll have to check it out!
Yay for local blogs!

I love that she saw your note. I love that ending to the story. That’s made me happy today: the thought that the little things we do can ricochet into something meaningful for someone else.
You BLOG makes me happy! I’m so glad that I bumped into you on fitblog chat last night. You are officially added to my blogroll and GmailReader!
Much love to you!
Am glad things turned around fo ryou.
That is amazing that woman saw your note – when I hear things like that it makes me think it was meant to be and how the world works in strange ways. Too cool.
Ah yes, baby feet. I often marvel at my 3 yr olds. Adorable.
Thanks, lady! Glad I bumped into you, too!! <3
Awww I love this story! (And your nephew – adorable!) Don’t you love when something random or unexpected changes your whole day around?? Personally I don’t believe in coincidences so when something like that happens I always say, “Thanks God!”
Hi Rebecca! This is my first time to your blog and I loved the OB story! It’s so incredible both how small the world can be and the power of one little note. Thanks for sharing and while I don’t know what was to blame for the rough few days, I hope all is improving.
I have a nephew around the same age as yours it seems! Are you the proudest aunt? I love my nephew so much…and his feet are precious too!
