This is my living room:
Actually, that’s a banana, a clementine and two slices of toast slathered with peanut butter. But just beyond that beautiful breakfast is the living room of my condo, which is where I’m sitting now, writing to you. I have my headphones in and I’m listening to my Mumford and Sons station on Pandora. Just ten minutes ago, I was lying on the floor contemplating writing a blog post. I finally decided to stop thinking about it and just do it. I have to talk myself into things sometimes
I’ve been taking pictures for the past week or so with the intention of blogging about them right away. But since I haven’t been doing that, I just have a bunch of random pictures, like this one:
These are the groceries I bought Trader Joe’s last weekend. See those baby beets? I eat them like they’re going out of style. Same with those organic power greens (baby kale, chard and spinach). And those Chia Seeds? Those are new to me, and let me tell you, I am obsessed. I’ve always heard about the benefits of eating chia seeds (protein, omega 3s, more energy), but I never wanted to try them for some reason. I’m so glad I finally did. I add them to my salads and my oatmeal and I am full for hours. I can also really feel an energy difference. I’m hooked.
Speaking of oatmeal, I welcomed Oats In A Jar (OIAJ) back into my life a couple mornings ago.
Oh, how I’ve missed OIAJ. So delicious! And Pret coffee? Also delicious.
In other news, I made the most amazing salad for lunch today.
- TJ’s Power Greens
- Tomatoes
- Cucumbers
- Beets
- Carrots
- Chickpeas
- Avocado
- Red Onion
- Chia Seeds
- Pecans
- Whole Foods Croutons
- Annie’s Balsamic Vinaigrette
It was so good, and kept me full for the whole afternoon.
I’ve been getting up at 5:15 to go to the gym for the past week. I was getting really tired of going after work and not getting home until 8:30 or 9. Getting up early was hard at first, but I’m slowly getting used to it. I love working out in the morning, too.
With that said, I’m off to bed for my early wake-up call!
What are your favorite grocery items?
Have a great Tuesday!
