So, I think I found my new house.
I mean, it’s technically a coffee shop but that doesn’t really matter, does it?
Let me back up for a minute and explain how I came to this the decision, because once I do, I think you’ll want to move right in with me. I’m ok with that. We can be roommates.
Last week when I was
stalking browsing the Fitfluential hashtag on Instagram, I came across Rebecca’s profile and realized that she lives in Asheville! I obviously got in touch with her right away and arranged a coffee date. She needed to be in South Asheville for a pregnancy-related appointment (she’s got a little boy in there!) and raved about a coffee shop nearby called Biltmore Coffee Traders. So on Friday, I packed up my laptop bag and ventured out to meet my new friend!
I fell in love as soon as I walked through the door.
Are you guy reading those signs? Go on, I’ll wait.
Strawberry Cherry Muffins? Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Scones? Roasted Cauliflower Hand Pies? Homemade Syrups? Fresh, Micro-Roasted Coffee Beans?
I knew exactly what I wanted as soon as I saw the homemade syrups: a Salted Caramel Latte. I mean, obviously.
Biltmore Coffee Traders makes everything in house, with the exception of locally-sourced, NY-style bagels. They even make their own cream cheese from scratch!
So can we talk about this bagel? I got it at @biltmorecoffee yesterday and it was SO GOOD. Biltmore Coffee Traders (AKA my new house) gets its bagels locally from Joey’s NY Bagels and then makes its own cream cheese in house! This was an everything bagel with garlic-herb cream cheese and it did not disappoint! Yum! Happy Weekend!
Since we’re talking about an Instagram meet-up, I thought it would be only fair to include an Insta-photo!
Speaking of our meet-up, it was awesome! Rebecca is great and it’s not only because she has the best name ever. We met at 9:45 and talked for well over an hour about everything under the sun: her kids, weddings, blogging, instagram, politics, FOOD. We decided that weekly friend dates are mandatory from now on! This is why I adore the blogging community so much; It makes it so easy to find amazing, like-minded people who turn into actual real-life friends! I can’t even tell you how many friends I’ve made through blogging! Since we moved to Asheville in September, I’ve met two friends through Instagram and I’m about to meet a third next week!
After we talked forever, Rebecca had to leave to get her run in and pick up her daughters from preschool. I, however, stayed at the coffee shop for another SIX HOURS.
I spent the remainder of the day working on my blog and chatting up Biltmore Coffee’s owner, Laura, who made me a delicious cup of herbal tea.
I can’t remember exactly what was in this blend but it was just what I needed to get me through the afternoon.
Before I headed our for the day, I made sure to grab a bag of beans and a Double Chocolate Espresso Cookie for home.
I’m already planning a trip back next week. I should probably stop writing now so I can go pack my things.
If you’re in the area, I definitely recommend checked out Biltmore Coffee Traders. I promise you will not be disappointed.
Do you have a favorite coffee shop/hangout? Tell me about it!
Have a great Monday! <3
Note: Biltmore Coffee Traders did not ask me to write this post. I paid for everything myself and willingly wrote this review.
