Hello! Happy Monday! Happy Day After Easter! Happy We’re Back in Asheville After Driving 11 Hours Straight Yesterday!
I think that covers everything.
Did you have a good weekend!? I spent mine far away from the internet with my friends and family. While I’m happy to be home, it really is so hard to live so far away from my favorite people.
As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, part of the reason we went to New York last week was so I could go dress shopping with my bridesmaids!
I picked my three best friends in the whole world to be in our wedding and I feel so lucky to have them in my life.
I am the most indecisive person ever and made them try on five million dresses and they didn’t even complain.
My niece, Eloise, came along to try on dresses too. She and Jeff’s cousin, Elizabeth, are going to be flower girls.
I don’t think you’re ready for the cuteness.
We were at the shop for two hours but it was a huge success because everyone, including my mother, found a dress. Mission accomplished!
If you live in the New York/New Jersey area and are getting married anytime soon, I definitely recommend Aleana’s Bridal in Ridgewood, NJ. I got my dress there in January and Aleana (the owner) didn’t even have to look at my file to pull my dress from the back for me to try on again. Like I said above, we were there for two hours on Saturday and they were so attentive and helpful. I can’t wait to go back for my first fitting in July.
We were all starving by the time we were done dress shopping, so we headed over to a new cafe in Ridgewood called The Sensible Fork.
We had high hopes for this place when we walked in because the atmosphere was so cute and the menu was awesome with tons of vegetarian and gluten-free options! Unfortunately, while the food was great, the service was HORRIBLE. I don’t usually like to write bad reviews on the blog, and I’m hoping they were just short-staffed that day or something. They also just opened a few months ago so maybe it’s just taking them a while to get their act together. That said, I’m not sure I’d go back.
My mushroom, swiss, and avocado omelet was pretty good and everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals. Especially Eloise, who I’m pretty sure ordered the best thing on the menu: Fried Banana French Toast.
After lunch we spent the afternoon shopping and hanging out in Ridgewood.
Saturday night we continued the fun at a restaurant in Nyack, NY called Brickhouse.
When we got there we found out the restaurant somehow lost our reservation so we had to wait at the bar for a bit. It ended up being fine though because they treated us to a round of drinks to make up for it. I had the Spring Sangria, which if I remember correctly was a magical combination of rum, saint germain liqueur, rosé wine, mango puree and club soda. It was so delicious, I had two!
To start, we ordered sweet potato fries with chipotle aioli and chips with housemade guac but they were gone too fast to take a picture.
For my entrée I ordered a Truffle Veggie Burger: Caramelized Onions, Sautéed Mushrooms, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Pickles and Truffle Aioli. It came with a salad on the side.
That was also gone too fast for a picture. Sorry, not sorry.
You can have this picture of me with a birthday brownie sundae instead.
Now I’m off to a local blogger event hosted by the NC Blogger Network!
Have a wonderful evening! <3
I’m linking up with Marvelous Monday!
