In case you missed it, here’s Part One!
On Saturday night, I was hit with some sort of stomach bug. I’m not sure where I got it, but it only lasted until the middle of the day on Sunday. My mother was pretty sure it was stress related. I think I believe her.
When I felt a little better on Sunday afternoon, I accompanied my parents on the most distracting outing ever: food shopping. Seriously, there’s nothing better than walking around Trader Joe’s to take your mind off of things.
Here’s my loot:
I’m not really sure how I spent more than an hour in TJ’s and only ended up with six things. I usually buy the whole store.
On Monday morning, I met this gorgeous lady in Nyack for breakfast:
I met Mareesa while interning and freelancing for The Saratogian last summer. She was recently offered a position at The Journal News, the newspaper for Rockland and Westchester Counties. This fabulous news meant that she would be moving from Saratoga Springs to Weschester. She now lives only a half hour away from me, which means I get to see her all the time! Her move down here could not have come at a better time!
The restaurant we originally planned to go to was closed (for Labor Day? because it was Monday?), so we ended up at a diner on Main Street instead.
I ordered a delicious iced coffee to start.
And decided on the Tijuana Omelet for breakfast:
It was stuffed with peppers, onions, jack cheese, and salsa. It sounds and looks better than it actually was. The eggs were a little rubbery. I didn’t mind, though. I was there for the company! 🙂
After breakfast, Mareesa and I headed to Target, and spent five hours there. You think I’m kidding…
When we finally parted ways, I went to the gym for a much needed workout, and then home to devour this entire pizza:
I have a serious weakness for fresh tomato, garlic, and cheese. I probably could have eaten the whole thing by myself, but I didn’t because my mom ordered it to share with my brother, Adam, and sister-in-law, Sarah, who were coming over for dinner with my nephew, Nicholas.
I restricted myself to two slices.
I had a wonderful long weekend, and I hope you did, too!
To wrap up this recap, here’s a very blurry, but very adorable picture of my nephew.
