Hello! So glad you’re here!
My name is Rebecca. I’m a 30-year-old vegetarian foodie living, eating and blogging in Asheville, NC with my husband, Jeff, and our crazy cat, Aslan.
I LOVE food but I like to stay fit, so I try to balance my love for chocolate mousse with a healthy dose of yoga, spinning and weight-lifting.
I grew up just outside New York City and went to college in upstate New York, where I earned my degree in journalism and English from the University at Albany.
When I’m not eating, exercising or blogging, I enjoy cooking and baking, shopping (especially at grocery stores and farmers’ markets), traveling, and exploring Asheville.
ABOUT THE BLOG
I started Rosey Rebecca in 2009 to chronicle my weight-loss journey, but it has gradually morphed into much more than that. I love writing and my style bounces back and forth between seriously ridiculous and ridiculously serious.
The ramblings you’ll find here are focused mainly on my daily attempts to live a healthful life while eating my weight in pizza and bagels (hey- I’m a New Yorker after all). A big chunk of what you’ll see are pictures of what I ate, baked and cooked, recipes, recaps of workouts, and musings on my day-to-day life.
You’ll also find honest posts about (1) my transition from meat-eater to vegetarian in 2010; (2) my breast cancer scare that same year; (3) why I needed hip surgery at 27 years old; and (4) the experience of unexpectedly losing my father to lung disease in 2011 when he was only 61, and I was only 24.
I adore sharing my life with you and I hope you’ll stick around!
